Passing through many parks, green spaces, wetlands and historical cultural sites this pathway connects three communities in York Region; East Gwillimbury, Newmarket and Aurora. “Nokiidaa” is an Ojibwe term that means “walking together” and fits very well as this is a popular route among the surrounding towns. The trail follows the East Holland River and is relatively flat along the way. The mostly gravel path is also great as it utilizes a lot of underpasses to avoid car traffic. There is plenty to do in each of the communities if you need to stop for a break and grab a bite to eat.
